Rules for USPSA matches at Shongum

 

In Person Training

For first time competitors, you must attend either our annual half-day Introduction to USPSA event or our monthly New Participant Briefing session.  The Introduction to USPSA session is usually held in June or July, while the New Participant Briefing is held monthly at 8:30 AM prior to the start of the match.

What you will learn

 

Part 1: Classroom – Understanding USPSA, Safety, Equipment, Scoring, and Sport Courtesy

Part 2: Outdoor Range – Course of Fire and Practical Shooting Stages, a sample of a USPSA match

What you will need

  • A 9 MM minimum caliber handgun.
  • A quality holster that completely covers the trigger and is securely attached to a belt, at waist level, passing through at least three pant belt loops. No cross-draw holsters.
  • The angle of the holster points muzzle within three feet in front or behind the shooter.
  • At least 3 magazines, magazine pouches for two magazines affixed to the belt, and a minimum of 50 rounds of ammunition
  • Eye and ear protection

Class size is limited and is open to Shongum Members and non-members.

Register soon as classes will fill up quickly.

Shongum Members: $25.00
Non-Members: $35.00
